Legal Grounds Coffeehouse Inc. is a large coffeehouse, with approximately 70 seats divided into three seating areas: a front 'normal' coffeeshop area, a library-type seating area, and a back meeting room (having capacity to seat approximately thirty people). The meeting room is available for rent to organizations seeking meeting rooms in the Abbotsford area. We have a gas see-through fireplace located between the meeting room and the library area (shown here), leather chairs in the meeting room, and a leather couch and chair in the library area. We occasionally schedule live entertainment (generally a jazz pianist or jazz guitar player) on Friday or Saturday nights. We also offer Foreign Films in our meeting room on Sunday, Saturday (and some Friday) nights, generally at 7:00 p.m., and Sunday afternoons at 2:00 p.m. Please call for more information, or check out the 'Music and Films' page of this website. More information on our Meeting/Seminar Rooms: We have meeting/seminar rooms available for your business or organization. The Glacier room, named after the restaurant that occupied the same premises in the 1940s and 1950s, is equipped such that it can be used as a large board room or in a theatre style setting. It fits approximately thirty people comfortably and is equipped with a NEC multimedia projector that can be used for a power point or video/DVD presentation (with your compatible XGA resolution laptop). An overhead projector and a whiteboard/flipchart easel are available. Seating is in comfortable leather chairs. The Glacier room is also where we present our international films. The basic room rate is currently twenty-five dollars for a morning, an afternoon, or an evening. A 15 cup container of coffee is also available for an additional ten dollars. The Andrews room, named after the Andrews Grocery store that occupied the same side of the building during the 1930s, 1940s, and early 1950s, is equipped with a large wall-mounted white board, a 27" television with VCR, and with an eight-person boardroom table. The room has seating for twenty comfortably (and can seat more uncomfortably). An overhead projector and a whiteboard/flipchart easel are also available. Seating is on comfortable cloth chairs. The basic room rate is fifteen dollars for a morning, afternoon or evening. A 15 cup container of coffee is also available for an additional ten dollars. When not otherwise reserved, the Andrews and Glacier rooms may also be available as study rooms or impromptu meetings rooms without charge to customers who are consuming food and beverages from the coffeehouse. |
